Sidewalk Canopies


When a building or structure is under construction, being demolished, repaired or modified, the appropriate protection must be provided for pedestrians on nearby sidewalks. This is most often accomplished by the construction of a temporary pedestrian sidewalk canopy that is intended to protect individuals from falling objects.

Gilco provides three types of pedestrian sidewalk canopy systems:
  • Heavy-duty post type canopy
  • Heavy-duty walk-through frame type canopy
  • Light duty rolling canopy

    For temporary access to all levels of your job site, Gilco offers two types of stair towers:
    • Systems stairs - 30" wide treads
    • Frame-type stairs - 20" wide treads
    Gilco does installations with our trained crews, or we offer simple rentals if your staff is qualified to do the work themselves. Gilco can also enclose your stair for improved job site security.

    Remember, OSHA requires two means of egress for limited access work-sites.
